Welcome to European Coatings Show Newsroom!
More than 1,150 German and international exhibitors are expected at the European Coatings Show 2019, which will take place from 19 to 21 March at Exhibition Centre Nuremberg and will occupy 8 halls for the first time. The leading platform for the coatings industry will once again be the main port of call for experts from the paint and coatings sector. Whether their interests are in coatings, printing inks, laboratory, production, testing or measuring equipment, raw materials for adhesives or construction chemicals, trade visitors can look forward to specialised suppliers from all over the world and the most extensive range of products in the history of the event. With 144 presentations on 18 and 19 March, the European Coatings Show Conference offers plenty of scope for in-depth knowledge transfer, while the extra pre-conference tutorials are a good way of preparing for the conference.
This year, the European Coatings Show will also occupy hall 9 for the first time, so is now spread over eight halls in total. Six halls will be dedicated predominantly to suppliers of raw materials for paint and printing inks, adhesives and construction chemicals. Another two are reserved for laboratory and production systems, testing and measuring equipment, and environmental protection and work safety. The European Coatings Show connects the global coatings industry, as the international exhibitor contingent shows: almost 70 percent of exhibitors come from outside Germany.
The show navigator on the website and app for iOS and Android provide convenient online and mobile tools for planning a trade fair visit. App users can also use the Match! function to make contact with trade show participants that share their interests, and are kept informed of any changes during the event itself.

Start-ups in the spotlight
The Young Innovative Companies Pavilion that has been a feature of the event in previous years is located in hall 4A and provides a platform to German companies less than 10 years old. For the first time, this facility will be complemented by a new Start-up Area with international participants. In hall 1, start-ups not older than five years and taking part in the European Coatings Show for the first time will showcase their products and services.
Product presentations provide information on the latest products
Brief presentations by exhibitors provide an overview of the latest products and their features. Each speaker has 20 minutes to explain the development, technology and capabilities of the latest coatings innovations. Visitors to the European Coatings Show will find the product presentations free of charge in halls 1, 4 and 9.

Knowledge transfer at the European Coatings Show Conference
The two-day European Coatings Show Conference starts the day before the exhibition and is an ideal complement to it. The biggest conference for the sector in Europe, it brings together the leading lights of the international research landscape, outstanding scientists and experts from the coatings industry. In 24 sessions with 144 presentations, the focus will be on technological trends and the latest market developments. The European Coatings Show Conference covers the entire process chain for the manufacture of paints and coatings. On Sunday 17 March, a day before the conference starts, 10 pre-conference tutorials covering the fundamentals prepare participants for the subsequent conference programme.
Presentation of European Coatings Show Award
As always, the programme of lectures starts with the plenary session, during which the prestigious European Coatings Show Award will be presented. The EUR 2,000 prize acknowledges the best submission pre-selected by a jury of experts. The main criteria include the scientific relevance and degree of innovation of the conference contribution. The keynote presentation is also part of the plenary session. This year, Professor Markus Antonietti, Director of the Max Planck Institute for Colloids and Interfaces, will speak about methods for the production of monomers, solvents, plasticisers and curable oligomer systems from wood-like waste products.
